20170730 NewsWest for Sunday 30th July 2017

NewsWest this week takes a look at portable operations and we talk about some of the options available to entice you into the great outdoors.   We talk about the volunteer vacancies at the Wireless Institute, and Clive tells us about the Radio Amateurs Old Timer’s Club, and we remind you about the looming Remembrance Day Contest and other contests  coming up in August.

We have our regular weekly spots; Foundations of Amateur Radio with Onno, and Roy’s Helpline. Other contributors are Glynn, and myself, Bob VK6POP the news producer for this week.

NewsWest is produced every week by W.A. Amateur Radio News for Amateurs and interested others in Western Australia, and can be heard broadcast on a plethora of frequencies an times, and is also available on demand and for download.  Visit to find out how.
