20150731 - VK100ANZAC Operators Needed

Post date: Jul 31, 2015 7:51:47 AM

VK100ANZAC is getting closer by the minute.

We have about 6 volunteer operators, need a couple more for the week-days and we have some amazing locations confirmed.

As mentioned previously, we'll be operating at different World War One significant locations. We start and finish proceedings at ANZAC Cottage in Mount Hawthorn and between the bookends we'll activate the ANZAC memorial in Mandurah, the Blackboy Hill site in Greenmount, Kings Park, Stirling Square in Guilford and we are working on some others.

Operations are aimed at being 24 hours for six days, so there is ample opportunity to get your hand on a microphone or a key, or help with logging or building stations.

The activation locations are shown on the vk6.net website, as is the place where you can share your availability.

We still need some overnight QTH volunteers, and we're still working hard behind the scenes on getting some historic segments put together to transmit each day on the repeater network and relayed over HF.

We also plan to do a brief news broadcast on Wednesday night the 5th of August at 19:00. Check in on the latest information about the VK100ANZAC activation and ask questions afterwards.

It's not too late to help out, just fill in the form and let us know what your availability is. Check out the vk6.net website for more information.
