Today's NewsWest is the New Amateurs edition.

We also bring you a bit of a heatwave, and hopefully the hot spell will break tomorrow.

There’s information and encouragement for newbies, we congratulate a bunch of people who recently passed their exams and have obtained, or are about to obtain, their new license.

Today we take a couple of minor deviations from Amateur Radio, with a request to listen out for waverider beacons on 27 MHz, and news of a satellite monitoring station for the northern wheatbelt.

We can look forward to another episode of Roy’s Helpline, we take another peek over the Amateur Radio back fence, and in New Hams the series I talk about encouraging newcomers to the hobby.
