NewsWest for Sunday 21st April 2019 - New Amateurs Edition

Post date: Apr 19, 2019 9:33:47 AM

NewsWest is heard across Western Australia and the rest of Australia and in other interesting places around the world. Firstly, Easter greetings from the team here at WA amateur Radio News, and we hope your extra long weekend is all that you want it to be.

Today we’re giving information and advice to New and potential Amateurs, WIA Director Harry gives some information about and encouragement to go to the WIA’ AGM and conference in Sydney, and we’ve got a true, honest to goodness, we wouldnt tell you a lie, story about Easter Bunny.

On Thursday it’s ANZAC Day, where the country pauses to remember the sacrifice made by many, and the lasting impact of war on our lives. Australian Amateur Radio operators may use the special AX prefix in their callsign on ANZAC Day, replacing the “VK” with “AX”.
