NewsWest for Sunday 7th February 2021 is the New Amateurs Edition, where we welcome and acknowledge newcomers to the hobby, and congratulate those who have upgraded their license or obtained new callsigns.

It’s been a trying week for many of us here in Western Australia, with lockdowns for COVID19, and a massive, fast moving bushfire that destroyed more than eighty homes. A little more on that later.

Theres news from the ACMA about a review of licensing arrangements for Amateurs, we clear up the UTC versus GMT question, and theres more, including Roy’s Helpline.

NewsWest invites contributions to the news programme. You can send contributions by email to newswest@vk6.net
