NewsWest is produced by WA Amateur Radio News, and goes to air every Sunday of the year.This week we look at new hams, who has earned a new license, and we offer some useful information and perhaps even advice to those new to the hobby.

The Winter VHF/UHF contest is on next weekend, and there’s a reminder for that, and also for the International Museums weekend, on this and next weekend,

We have a road report from Andrew. Well when I sad Road Report, he’s actually on a river cruise. Andrew is presently in Germany but will soon be in Austria.

Roy’s helpline tells us who wants to buy, sell or swap used equipment, and also those seeking information. Dan talks about his experience in portable ops using a non resonant long wire.
