20170218 - ABC Shortwave Service - the Department Responds

Steve VK6ST sent a letter to the Minister of Communications and the Arts asking about the demise of the ABC Radio Shortwave Service. The Department sent a comprehensive response.

The two page document goes into great detail, but in essence says that the ABC is free to make this decision and assures us that their service will not be impacted by the cessation of the Shortwave Service and recommends that the dedicated Bureau of Meteorology HF service is a suitable replacement with hourly weather updates and alerts.
